Sara Ortega is a film producer based in Los Angeles, California. She holds an associate degree in Film Studies, Communications, and Arts & Humanities from Santa Monica College and transferred to Cal Poly Humboldt, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Film with a minor in Communications. Sara’s focus of study is producing and directing. Sara served as co-director of the Humboldt International Film Festival, overseeing sponsorship, outreach, and media relations. Her objective was to expand the festival’s reach and impact by selecting a diverse range of films that highlight different perspectives and experiences. She secured multiple sponsors representing various community sectors to enhance the festival’s outreach efforts.
As a producer, Sara values collaboration and emphasizes the importance of fostering a supportive environment on set. Her long-term goal is to establish her own production company dedicated to supporting emerging filmmakers by cultivating a vibrant, collaborative creative community. She also aims to inspire and empower children through storytelling, mentorship, and increasing access to filmmaking opportunities.
Her future endeavor is to open her own film production company (Ever After Pictures) with her esteemed director and friend, Caleb McCarthy.
